Despite the enormous potential of VPC, there are still multiple barriers to adoption, even after the boost in awareness during COVID-19.
To learn more about what members are really looking for in VPC and digital-first plans, we worked with one of the top 5 US health plans to survey over 300 members who had experience with traditional, video-only telehealth, and telehealth optimized with remote physical exams.
The results shine a light on the changing face of virtual primary care for today’s members and payers alike.
Key findings include:
are waiting an average of 6 days to see a primary care provider
are comfortable using virtual primary care with remote physical exams in place of visiting the ED
say that VPC with remote physical examinations makes primary care more accessible
are more likely to stay with their payer long term due to being provided with VPC with remote physical examinations
will consider a digital-first plan once they have experienced VPC with remote physical examinations
